Graphic tees, adorable harem pants, fun printed leggings and colourful accessories. Toronto trio Mini Souls makes dressing your little ones fun with some Canadian Soul and a whole lot of love. These creative ladies tell us a little more about their passion that is Mini Souls.
Tell me a little bit about the history of mini souls and your inspiration behind the line.
In 2009 we took a silk screening workshop at a store in Toronto called Peach Berserk. We fell in love with the art form of screen-printing. Within that same week we had transformed a room in our mom’s basement into our studio space, built a light table and started investing in inks and blank apparel. We began with an adult line under the name Note To Soul. We were super proud of the collection we created but could never seem to find the right spaces to sell and spread the word about our brand. As we became parents, we had such an appreciation for products for our children that were handmade and unique and that inspired us to start creating pieces that our own children could wear. We participated in a number of local markets and our children’s products sold so well that we put the adult line on hold to focus on Mini Souls.
You seem to use a lot of graphic art in your designs, what are some prints you love to use?
We are proudly Canadian and we love the animals in our Canadian Wilderness Collection. The first three designs that we started with were the Wolf, Moose and the Beaver. We have since added many more animals to the collection including a Rabbit, Owl, Fox, Reindeer and Narwhal. We have a bunch of new ones in the works for Spring/ Summer.
I love your adorable printed infinity scarves, what items are best sellers?
Right now our best sellers are our Wolf tee/ onesie as well as our 'Strawberry Milk' harem pants. They are a red and beige marble print pant that are lightweight and super comfy! With everything we make we try to find a balance with comfort and style.
