It’s A Wonderful Wonderlin Life

Life is full of beautiful moments and tragic heartache.  In college the person I was engaged to and planned on spending the rest of my life with died unexpectedly.  Heartbroken beyond words, I moved home to Austin, Texas where I spent several years recovering from that. In July of 2012 I found the person I now call my husband.  He was randomly sitting outside a restaurant, we locked eyes and the rest is history.  Not only was I a girlfriend, but I was in a position where I had to be a parent.  He had a small child who he raised.   Raising someone else’s children was something I never imagined I would do, but it has certainly been a learning experience that has made me very strong and wise.

My husband and I got married January 31, 2014.  We wanted a year to be married before welcoming children of our own.  If you look at my social media profiles you will see that we have a beautiful daughter who is almost 10 months old.  Lol; clearly God heard our plans and laughed in our face.   In February 2014 we found out we were pregnant, not only were we totally shocked, we also found out I had a sickness called, Hyperemesis Gravidarum. This is a horrible pregnancy sickness that can require a lot of medical attention and monitoring of the baby. As newlyweds I spent my first 4 months in a hospital unable to leave and go home to my new husband and stepson. I continued to be sick until the day she was taken out of me by emergency C-section at the bi-weekly check-up appointment. I was only 35 weeks along, but because she was at risk of dying in the womb they said, “it’s time”.  She spent 2 weeks in the NICU fighting for her life before we got to bring her home.  Today she is perfect and healthy, just tiny for her age. I keep her at home with me and work when she is not making me chase her all over the house haha.

As a wife, mom, step-mom, entrepreneur, lifestyle blogger/vlogger and co-owner of The University of Texas magazine, Horns Illustrated. I live a very busy, sometimes stressful life, but at the end of the day I really am living a wonderful Wonderlin life.     The best views come after the hardest climbs.  My tough climbs have only made me stronger and taught me invaluable lessons.  I continue to take what life throws at me and push through.  There are several times I could of given up and thrown in the towel but that’s not me.  I am a fighter. I am so looking forward to the next chapters in my life.
