Balance, Balance, Balance! I think I've heard that word more in the past 8 years, since becoming a Mom than I have my whole life. BUT the truth is when it comes to parenthood, happiness and health, balance really is key.
I spent the first 5 years of motherhood being stressed out about whether my kids ate enough. The best tips that I was given from a respected pediatrician was to look at the week, not the day. Let your kids have some control/choices, with the food they choose, but make sure they eat a "balanced" diet…There’s that word again!
From that day on I let my kids choose the cereal they wanted. Don't get me wrong, we have a variety of choices in my home for breakfast foods, but the kids often choose a cereal that just tastes good to them.
