Quick and Healthy Snack Ideas for Mom (and the kids)

Hello mama, this is a reminder that you are NOT a garbage can! You do not deserve your kids left overs!  That being said, we know how hard it can be to make quick and healthy snacks for yourself, let alone something that the kids will love.  Look no further... watch this video for 4 quick, simple and healthy snacks that everyone will enjoy!

Snack 1: Fruit and Mock Caramel Sauce

  • 1-2 pieces of fruit (use a handy fruit chopper to help speed everything up)
  • 1 TB Peanut Butter (or seed/alternative nut butter)
  • 1 tsp Organic Honey

Snack 2:  Chia Seed Pudding

  • For one serving mix 1/8c chia seeds with 2 or three 1/8th cups of organic soy milk
  • Add in 1 tsp cacao powder and stir
  • Add a few non-dairy chocolate chips

*optional to add maple syrup if using unsweetened milk*

Snack 3: Chopped Veggies and Dip (or hummus)

  • Pre-chopped veggies (that is the key to making this quick)
  • 1-2 TB hummus

Snack 4: Avocado on Naan with Hemp Seeds

  • 1 slice of warmed or toasted naan
  • 1/2 an avocado spread on it
  • 1 TB hemp seeds sprinkled on top
  • dash of sea salt

How To Set Goals And Stick To Them! #WellnessWednesday

The problem is that most of us set too many goals, or we don't set them in order to succeed.

    Wellness Wednesday: Easy ways to reduce stress

    Okay moms, we get it, stress inevitable for us.  We are constantly in a state of worry, concern or are just so on-the-go that stress and exhaustion seems to be a part of our daily life.

    I'm here to tell you though, that you need to put yourself first, for the sake of your health and your children.  

    The happier you are, the better the time is you are spending with your children.

    The better you can handle those situations that 'pop up'.  But what always is hard for us to admit is, that as moms we make a point to make sure your children are healthy, however we barely make the same effort for ourselves.

    So this week on Wellness Wednesday I am sharing with you my 6 secret tips to help you reduce stress!

    Vanessa and I both know that as moms, we can get lost in the shuffle of car pooling, after school programs, diaper changes and house cleaning. WE GET IT!  Many of you may not know this, but I have been working in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years and have extensively studied holistic nutrition. I've also been a health coach to women from all walks of life. 

    Vanessa and I have both competed in fitness competitions over the last few years, so we totally get just how much work can go into maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle. However, this was a personal goal for each of us when we competed.  Now that we have done that, we really just want to focus on staying healthy and feeling good!

    When we started working together we noticed a lot of moms talking about how little energy they had, asking us how we make time to stay healthy and in shape and wanting to know more about making healthy foods and dinners that their kids will eat!
